Students at Springville Middle school are managing an Aquaponics Tilapia Project.  Aquaponics is the simultaneous cultivation of fish and plants in a symbiotic environment.  400 fingerling tilapia were purchased and will be raised throughout the school year.  Students are responsible for caring for the fish, growing food, and maintaining the environment.  By June the tilapia should be plate size (12 inches) and students plan to have a dinner to support a local charity.

Throughout the year over 90 students will participate in the project.
